Ronnie
Wilson has lived in Maine for the past 27 years. She obtained
a degree in painting from MECA, where she has also taught
figure drawing and anatomy. While sometimes experimenting
with collage and found object sculpture, Wilson has always
returned to the pure act of painting as her prime source of
inspiration and delight. The very sensual nature of the paint
provides the foundation of her love of oil, palette knife
and canvas. This new body of work includes both the sculpted
landscapes of the Maine Coast as well as intimate floral still-lifes.
Ronnie currently lives with her dog Maya and walks daily by
the ocean responding over and over again to the horizon line
as the anchor to each day.
