"The Various pieces in this collection, taken together, express a life-long fascination with and reverence for the material world.
For me, matter is the manifestation of spirit, through which an idea can be rendered in three dimensions, or a prayer. Be it common clay or noble metal, an opal's fire or the sacred geometry of a tide-borne shell, all is holy and wholly remarkable.

As a maker of things, I can only strive to do justice to the materials I use. There is no value added here. There can never be.

It seems the impulse to wear the stuff of the Earth is as old as mankind. The magic of feather, crystal, tooth and claw, a sky stone in beaten gold, the soil of home in a medicine bag, worn on the heart to adorn and protect, to establish belonging.

It is upon this heritage that I stand as an artist. These small sculptures, be they ornament, amulet or talisman, are my soul's response to the singular beauty of this fragile world in which we find ourselves, or fail to. May they help in some way to call attention to its plight."
